THE BASSPAGE Went Down for Two Months !

January 10, 2003 - It wasn't a good holiday season for The BASSPAGE as it went down for two months. No updates were made and the whole site remained static. The reason for this was that Whitewing's web Design studio (www374.tripod.com) experienced a barrage of work which sucked the resources used for this site.

But we will be catching up on our loss as we have acquired better equiptment for faster updates and our research team promises (!?!) to commit (!?!).

And we are going interactive. We will be featuring anything about your bass gear and techniques. Register in our message board and ask away your question or request and we will try to respond positively or maybe somebody else will do. You can also request for a manual of a bass effects, a schematic diagram of any electronic item onboard a bass guitar or any other stuff and we will put it up on our download page. Soon we will be setting up our basspage mailing list. So check it out now!

But still the website needs much more support from other bassists. This month, the second leg of the research for bassist profiles will be done. Please help us develop our website.

An MP3 Portal for Filipino Musicians

A number of Filipino musicians especially those gigging around the globe fail to penetrate the mainstream music industry primarily because of their mobility and lack of a physical base. Most of these musicians are popular in other countries but never heared in the Philippines except by their peers. Some have already released an album or two in the country they have played on. Even selling an album in a cruise ship. They definitely deserve to be heared by Filipinos in the Philippines and all over the world. Luckily we have an internet - a global thing which breaks the barriers of regional limitations.

Bright Red Music Productions (BRMP), a company which has been producing concerts and albums of Filipino alternative bands decided to go online. In line with this expansion, the company came up with the idea of developing a portal of Filipino music of all genre without any prejudice. This is somewhat similar to the MP3.com concept. Musicians will be able to post in their music, sell albums, and promote links to their bands and music through this new portal. It is open to all musicians. They even have a section which caters to non-Filipinos who wants their music to be heared. Music is a universal language anyway!
